I think this might be your Michael Shanley.  The place in County Lietrim is likely Carrick-on-Shannon.

You are spot on! I was trying to find the obituary, but had no luck.  I noticed you also responded to the McGloin message.  We know more about the McGloins than the Shanleys.  One of my brothers has been to Ireland several times and visited with the relatives, as well as seen the McGloin Store.  I have not been as lucky - yet!  Hopefully, we will get there soon.  thank you for you help, I really appreciate it.

It dawned on me that I hadn't looked for Mary's Chicago Tribune obituary.  Funny cooincidence, but my grandfather John McCollam lived in St. Christina's parish starting in the late 50's.  He lived on Homan Ave.    Mary Ellen Shanley, nee McGloin- June 27 1982

I grew up with Shanley girls on Chicago's South Side: Mary,Nancy,Jean. Many photos and Info

My mother is Mary (gone 21 years).  Jean has also passed (14 years ago).  Nancy is doing well.   Did you know the girls from grammar school or when they were in high school?
