John Conboy (1848) and Elizabeth Glynn (1850) immigrated 1870 to New Haven, CT. Also her mother Ann Glynn and Ann's other children Mary and Jackson Glynn.  John Conboy was a tailor. His sister Bridget Conboy married Michael (or Nathan?) Moffat and most of their children came over one by one: Mary Ann, Jennie, Thomas, John, Margaret, Elizabeth. Two children (Teresa, James) I think stayed behind as did the parents. I want to  find out where they came from. I was told Leitrim or Galway.

Jennie Moffat, my gmother married Emil Johnson a Norwegian.

  • Hi there,

Thank you very much for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. Could you please post your message on the County Galway profile page here: http://www.irelandxo.com/group/county-galway

You could try looking for John and Elizabeth in the land records called Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). There might be some record there for Elizabeth or her parents. It would be better if you knew a more precise location or more names.

Have you tried looking for family papers or documents for more clues?

    Kind regards,

    Sinead Cooney
