Michael Fitzgerald was born 10 Sep 1815 (this date changes on different documents). He died on 5 Dec 1900 in Fond du Lac County, WI, USA. He immigrated to America in 1851, living in Massachusetts and marrying Abigail Shay (also from County Cork and probably Lisgoold) on 23 Jan 1853. He was residing in Taycheedah, Fond du Lac county, Wisconsin by 1855. The names of his children are as follows: Johanna, Michael, Richard Henry, Margaret, Mary, William, Abbie and John. He was a farmer. Anyone with any information on this family or the Shay family would be most appreciated.

Have you used rootsireland.ie (or familysearch) in conjunction with irishgenealogy.ie to see if you can find out anything further about the family? As you probably know parish records for urban centres usually refer back further that their rural counterparts but sometimes you can be lucky. RC records for Lisgoold for example, begin in 1807 for baptisms and 1821 for marriages.
