  • My great-grandfather was Michael J. Casey born about 1865, immigrated around 1891 to Boston, MA., married to Mary Murphy in Ireland, she was born about 1866 and immigrated to Boston, MA. aboard the Scythia from Queenstown in 1893.

My grandfather Michael J. Casey, Jr. was 8 months old at the time, he was born in September of 1892.

It looks as if my great-grandfather arrived on the Cephalonia on April 26, 1891 in the port of Boston, MA.

  • Caroll64,

I think we're related! My great-great grandfather was John Daniel Casey born in 1861 (brother of Michael) who immigrated to the US in the 1880. Daniel and Johanna (Healy) were his parents. All of our records say Derryfinnen or Macroom for what town they lived in.

I was there in January, looking for graves. I didn't have much luck. Let me know if you find anything.

    Thanks,

    Kristine Laird Abplanalp
