My GGGGrandfather Patrick McAullife got married to a Mary Hussey in Kilmore, Victoria, Australia in 1861. On the marriage certificate he states he is 23 yrs old born in Mallow, County Cork and his parents are Jeremiah Mc Auliffe and Mary Callaghan.

I have since found baptism records for Mary (1833), Patt(1835),James (1837) and Jeremiah(1838) all children of John McAuliffe and Mary Callaghan. Mary and Patt are baptised in Mallow, residence Ballinagar, James is in Mallow also with residence Springvally and finally Jeremiah is baptised in Newmarket, no residence given. Have I got the right family? Is John interchangable with Jeremiah or could it be a transcription error?  Would be interested in knowing more about the residences and the McAuliffe and Callaghan families. Thanks.

    No John is not interchangeable with Jeremiah, I had a quick look and found a Patrick McAuliffe baptised on the 10th January 1830 in Banteer (Mallow registration district) to a Jeremiah McAuliffe and a Mary Callaghan

    Thanks so much for your help. That definitely sounds like my Patrick. Is that from baptism records you have available to you but are not yet available online? The Banteer parish records digitized start at 1847. If so is it possible for you to find any details of the marriage of Jeremiah McAuliffe and Mary Callaghan or baptisms of any other children?

    Sorry about the late reply somehow I did not see a notification that you had replied

    Unfortunately there is no marriage record but I did find more children of Jeremiah and Mary

    Catherine 5 September 1841 in Banteer

    Mary baptised 12 May 1844 in Banteer
