Searching for information about Charles Lorraine Newman Daly born in Mallow parish 15 June 1808. Father James Daly, mother Ann.
I know he was living in Toronto Canada in the 1840s
Any information about his family would be welcome.
thanks

Hi Mary Anne
The Mallow church records only go back as far as 1803, for most Mallow parishes
I did notice that Charles was not born in Mallow town but in Liscarroll, County Cork, (still postal address Mallow)
If you are on Facebook please come and check out our Churchtown and Liscarroll page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Churchtown-Liscarroll-Reaching-Out/29707…
The Daly's ( a Charles) lived in the townland of Lacaroe or also called Lachenagrane in Liscarroll in 1833.
A Charles Daly is also buried in Liscaroll
Name:Charles
Surname:Daly
Date of death - day:17
Date of death - month:August
Date of death - year:1764

Hello and thank you so much for your help with this. I found a birth record for Charles Lorraine Newman Daly Jun 15 1808 and it lists Mallow Parish. Father Jas. Daly Mother Ann
Where do you see that he was born in Liscarroll County Cork?
I have found a record of a wedding in 1796 of James Daly and Ann Heyland but I am not sure if it is them. It says Diocese of Cork and Ross, County Cork , Ireland. Would that be the same area?
I did look up Liscarroll because I found a military record showing both a Charles and a Timothy Daley (I know that spelling is often recorded wrongly) from Liscarrol enlisted in the 86th foot soldiers. I was trying to tie this all together.
Thanks for the grave photos. That might help as well. I will join you on Facebook.
Once again. I so appreciate your help.

Yes that is correct Liscaroll and Churchtown (are the one parish) both fall under Mallow district
I am living in Churchtown myself , www.rootsireland.ie has some records but most records are kept in our parish church register since 1803 and are not available online.

Thanks for your response. I did try rootsireland but could not find James. I will try again.
I was looking at the two burials you show and they could possibly be the father and grandfather of James I will have to search using this new information to see if I can connect them.

Hi MaryAnne
In the meantime I have put a request for information on the Churchtown and Liscarroll Facebook page as we have a lot of local members who read the posts, there could be relations out there
