Looking for Timothy O"Connor, he was 39 and a blacksmith, his wife Elizabeth Greg was 37 when they left Ireland for Canada.  The left in 1825 with the Peter Robinson Settlers.  His children were, Elizabeth 19, Jane 17, William 14, Mary 11, Edmond 9, Ellen 6 and Margaret 3. 

He is my great great great great great grandfather.

    As you posted in the Mallow board I suppose you expect that they came from Mallow county Cork?

    Unfortunately there are no records available from before 1803 Mallow, I will have a look to see if there is a passenger listing somewhere as canada was very popular with the people from North Cork

    This is your family the arrived on ship the ''New Brunswick'' on June 12th 1825. They  proceeded from Quebec to Montreal aboard the steam boat Lady Sherbrooke, on 15 June 1825

  • Hi  Gail.    Your  ancestors  would  have  left  Ireland  before  either  the  Tithes  1830  or  Griffiths  valuation  1850.  I  decided     they  would  have  left  relatives  in  the  area.  I  found  Greggs  in  the  tithes,  Griffiths  and  in  the  1901  census .  They  were  in  Buttavent    Castlemagner  and  Doneraile.  I    looked  up  O'Connors/connors  It  was  a  much  more  popular  name  than  Gregg.  I  will  do  some  more  research  on  this.   The  best  of  luck  with  your  research.    Kindest  regards.    Christina.
