I am trying to locate my Great- Grandfather, Thomas Mulvey Coakley. His father was John Henry Coakley, and mother was Margaret Burnstaine. According to family lore and his WWI card, he was born in Berlin Germany in February, 1876. However, his parents were supposedly from Cork. The father, I belileve, had a sister named Ellen who was born in January 1843. She married Owen Callaghan in early 1865 and promptly set sail for Boston. The middle name of Mulvey is also unusual. Any help or guidance I can get will be much appreciated.

Hi ?,
you did not seem to have added your name to the above notice and it would be appreciated if you included it in any following corrospondence.
I think I may have some answers for you but need a little more time to explore further. Ellen Coakley married Eugene Callaghan in February of 1865 in the Catholic Church in Cloughroe, Dripsey in County Cork. You may or may not know that the name "Owen" is one of many versions of the name Eugene in Ireland. If this information is correct and I believe it is, then it is also fairly certain that the Coakley family were of the townland of Coolflugh near Dripsey as were the Callaghan family. The fathers of Owen and Ellen were both called Timothy. I will follow up this lead later today and get back to you. I attach the marriage record of Owen & Ellen below.

Hi Kathryn,
Sorry for not getting back to you but I am currently on vacation in the Canary Islands.
I did look further at the area where I found the family mentioned in my last posting but found no further information yet. Will continue to look on return to Ireland late next week. In the meantime, would you confirm or otherwise the information I sent you in the posting as if they are not the correct family, I could waste a lot of time researching that family. I am very confident that they are the correct ones but would like to hear your response or if you already had that information.
Kind regards,

So far the information you have provided is on point. I need to know if Ellen had a brother named John/Henry. If she did, did he leave Ireland? Thomas is my brick wall. Please enjoy your vacation, I am working many hours in the next two weeks and don't have free time for my genealogy.
