Hi Verina
Thank you for your query. Can you Include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Because you do not have a place name for your family in Cork we suggest that you search Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) . These lists constitute the only nationwide survey for the period, and are valuable because the heaviest burden of the tithes to the Established Church, the Church of Ireland, fell on the poorest, for whom few other records survive. The information in the Tithes is quite basic, typically consisting of Townland name, landholder's name, area of land and tithes payable.

If you find Cornelius O'Connor (OConnor or Oconnor-try all) it will give you the Parish/ Townland he held land in, in which case you can start to search for existing church records. (also if you do not find him under Cork try 'all Counties') You can search for Catherine's birth records and extended family.
Firstly do you know what the religious denomination of your family was? you can view what Roman Catholic records exist for various parishes in Cork through the link below:
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/ (Browse Roman Catholic Parish Map)
For Church of Ireland records see: http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. The Anglican Record Project is has created an index to their records: http://ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/AngRecord/bunclodyunionindex.pdf
If you have the Parish/townland name but are finding it hard to find the other land devisions which it falls under you can use the link below:
