Hi,
I am looking for information on the family of Michael and Ellen (Donovan) Deasy I have found baptism certificates for 6 of their 11 children who were baptized at St Mary's Church Leap, Cork, Ireland.
Mary Deasy 19 March 1833
Patrick Deasy 31 January 1835 (great, great grandfather)
Michael Deasy 2 October 1840 Mielmane?
John Deasy 5 April 1841
Mick Deasy 4 Feb 1844
James Deasy 9 March 1851 Glandore, Cregg, Cork, Ireland
Nora Deasy (?)
Joseph Deasy (?)
Brendan Deasy (?)
Ellen Deasy (?)
Most of the baptism certificates do not show addresses, but the baptism certificates of Michael and James have addresses, but not sure where the family was when the other children were born or the birth dates for the other children. James came to the states settling in Rhode Island in 1873 and married Ellen Flynn his childhood sweetheart and they had 8 children tragically 6 of them died on or before their 1st birthday his surving children Michael J. Dacey (the family used this name in the states) and Catherine Dacey went on to marry and have children.
Patrick Deasy married Mary Mccarthy daughter of Malachy Mccarthy in Rosscarbery in 1867 they had 8 children; Margaret born 1869 and died 15 Oct 1870 at a year old and is buried at Kaim Hill, Ross, Cork, Ireland. 5 of the other children immigrated to Rhode Island prior to 1902 and the last 2 Patrick Jr. and Timothy came over with their father Patrick Sr. arriving in Boston, Mass 10 Oct 1902; Mary Mccarthy Deasy never immigrated having died sometime prior to 1902 and the family would like to know exactly when she died.
Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Maria

Hi Maria,
Kilmacabea is the civil parish for Leap, Co Cork.
If you haven't already, you could try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) for some of these relatives. The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38): Microfilm copies of the books for all of Ireland are available at the National Archives of Ireland (NAI) http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/tithe-applotment-books-and-the-primary-griffith-valuation/ or the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS). Griffith's is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com or here: www.failteromhat.com Failte Romhat has lots of other useful links you could try looking at.
You might also try contacting the Cork County Library or the Catholic Diocese of Cork & Ross for further assistance. http://www.corkarchives.ie/genealogy/sourcesinthearchives/ and http://www.corkandross.org/parishes.jsp?parishID=38
