we may have a connection.   i have very little confirmation, tho.   my gggrandmother-Ellen Driscoll, b. ? 1830-1840?, Ireland, married Patrick Cunningham, i believe 28 sep 1856 dunmanway.  i have no info  concerning either set of parents.  i have found the following children for  them:

Kate,  24 jul 1857

Mary,  13 mar 1859

 Ellen,  mar 1861

 Denis,  4 mar 1864

 Helena, 1867

 Johanna [Annie],  1 oct 1868

 Patrick.  8 aug 1869

now-the reason i think we may have a connection...the children’s sponsors...

kate=ML Donovan  ellen donovan

ellen=pat donovan  cath murray

Johanna [Annie]=tim donovan  joanna donovan

patrick=richard  donovan  mary mennis

i’d asume all of these donovans would be related.  Annie was my ggrandmother-migrated to Boston, married willis landry;  as did helena-who married john moynihan.   

is any of this familiar?  if so-i’d enjoy hearing from you.  if not-continued good luck with your search.

Any connection with either of you?

I have a Johanna Driscoll, born Ballinacarriga, Dunmanway 1841. Parents: Denis Driscoll & Catherine Crowley. 

She had siblings: Ellen (1833), Mary (1835), Ellen II (1837), Catherine (1839) and Mary-Anne (1843)

The father, Denis, had at least two siblings: Michael and Mary.

Unfortunately, I don't see a connection (not to say there might not be but it isn't obvious). The family names are not familar to my research and the only family I know came from Cobh (or formerly Queenstown), not Dunmanway.

Have you tried looking through the database on http://www.rootsireland.ie/ ? It is best to narrow your search as much as possible as everyone seems to have the same name in Ireland... but happy hunitng.
