My roots appear to be lost in the mists of Ireland. My great grandmother, Honora Keohane was born in County Cork, sometime between 1835 and 1839. She married about 1854. The man she married was also born in County Cork about 1830. He is known to me as Timothy Lane, which may or maynot be his real name. He had been a member of Young Ireland and a Land League agitator. He learned that a warrant was issued for his arrest and he and Honora left Ireland using a false name. I do not know if Timothy Lane was the false name that he used or that is his real name. They hid from the English in plain sight, by living in Gravesend, Kent England. All their children were born in England. None of them learned much about their Irish ancestors, because Tim Lane was somehow involved with the fenians and did not talk about his connection to Ireland. Tim and Honora were Irish speakers and used that language when they spoke of things that they didnot want the children to know. The only other clue I have is that they were Roman Catholic.

Sorry not much to go on but any information would be greatly appreciated.
