I am the Great Granddaaughter of John Sweetnam who was born in Ballydehob in October 1830 and died 23/08/1908 in Rupanyup, Victoria, Australia. I know his father was John Sweetnam (1801-29/10/1882) and his mother was Mary (nee Copithorne) I know little about the father and cannot find anything about Mary. John (GGF) had a brother Matthew John (1823 -6/12/1885 in Stawell, Victoria, Australia) Both brother came to Australia and married here. John married Mary Shannon in Melbourne, Vic.Australia on 13/9/1864. Mary was born in Aghadown 13/9/1845 and died 18/12/1921 in Rupanyup, Victoria, Australia. Matthew married Mary Davison in 1862. I am hoping to find out more about my Irish forebears. Ann Greenwood
