I am looking for any information about my family. My grandfather's name was William Farrell I believe that he came from County Cork. From what I can remember what my momma told me was that he came over about 1910.  He was a railroad worker either built them or was an engineer. I need to find any ancestor of his so that I can try to piece together my medical history, and to try to reconnect with my Irish family. Can someone please help? I believe that he came through Ellis Island and then proceeded on to possibly Youngstown, Ohio but I'm not too sure.

I am also looking for my grandmother, Lily Mae Shipley. I have no idea where she came from but I beleive that she also came here (USA) sometime in the 1905 to 1910 period. I believe that she also came through Ellis Island. She also ended up in or near Youngstown, Ohio then moved to the Michigan area. These are both my maternal parents and I need to find any information to add to my medical history and to reconnect with my Irish family.

Thank You

Do you have an approximate year of birth for William Farrell? I looked at the 15 William Farrells in the 1901 census for Co. Cork and did not see a record that possibly could be him. Most of the ships left from Queenstown Co. Cork but the emigrant was actually from another county so I'm wondering if that is possible for your grandparent. I looked at www.ellisisland.org but there were a number of Williams so I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities.
