I am looking for any information regarding my relative Mary Butler of the Butlers of Cork in County Cork. I believe she was born in 1832 and married Seargent Henry Taylor. She was disowned by her family for marrying a Protestant. They had 2 daughters inIreland--Rebecca and Mary Jane before moving to England.

  • Hi Kathryn,

Most of the church records can be found in two websites.  www.rootsireland.ie and www.irishgenealogy.ie

I searched for Rebecca's baptismal record and found a record which could be the one.

Rebecca Taylor, father Henry Taylor, mother Butler bap. 1850 in Co. LImerick

I then went to the limerick site (just click on the magnifying glass) and searched the parishes.  I found the record in the parish of St. Marys RC Limerick.

You'll need to pay to view this record but it's only about €5 or so.

Hope this reveals a thread to pull.
