I am looking for information on behalf of my cousins whose great grandparents came from Ireland. I do not know when they immigrated to Canada.
His name is Michael John Furlong. His wife is Elizabeth Wakefield. Their son is Bertram Charles Furlong - year of birth 1888 - date of death 1975 - Vancouver, B.C. Bertram married an aboriginal woman in the Northwest Territories and together they had 7 children.
If you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Parents names appear in Irish records as Michael Joseph Furlong & Lizzie Anne Wakefield. Their marriage was registered in Cork city Jan ? Mar 1883 Vol 5, page 99.
Bertram Charles Furlong birth registered in Skibbereen Jan ? Mar 1888 Vol 5, page 516.
Possible siblings to Bertram (all registered in Skibbereen) are Edith Amy Furlong Jan ? Mar 1885 Vol 5, page 530; Henry Ernest F Jul ? Sep 1886 Vol 5 page 507; Alfred Gordon F Jan ? Mar 1890 Vol 5, page 479.
You can order a photocopy of those certs from GRO Roscommon for ?4. Put the place, year, quarter (where there is one), volume & page number on the application form (anywhere). http://www.groireland.ie/ You have to post or fax the form to them but they will e-mail the copy certificate to you if you wish. Put ?please e-mail to?..? clearly on the top of the form.
