Mary Neil had a daughter baptized on 27/3/1908, her name was Julia. Julia Sullivan landed in Boston in 1926 - she was at that time 18 yo. I am Julia's only daughter, Mary Ellen Jennings, born in 1949, in Nev, USA. I have no proof that the baptism record is indeed for my mother, but it's terribly similar in details to my mothers history. At this time, I'm interested in any history related to my grandmother, Mary Ellen (Neil) Sullivan, and/or grandfather, Michael(?)Sullivan; to include parish/ township etc. I can verify with most of the names of my mothers siblings.

Do you have more information on Michael Sullivan, such as sibling names or grandparent names. It's a very common name in Ireland is what I'm saying. My grandfathers brother, his name is Michael Sullivan and he moved to the states also I think Boston and I don't know much about him really but I know a lot about the other siblings. I'm not sure if he ever married.
If you can try and dig out more info on Michael then you may get some connection with someone on here who can guide you.
Who knows we may discover we are related. My cousin found me on here searching the Sullivan family, very cool indeed.
all the best to you

Mary:
There were 357 Julia Sullivans in the 1911 census in Co. Cork. I looked at all the 2 and 3 year olds and did not see one with parents Michael Sullivan and Mary Ellen Sullivan. Do you have names of her siblings that were alive in 1911. www.census.nationalarchives.ie

I had just about given up hope of ever finding my great grandmother's family in Ireland, Reading the comments regarding Sullivans in County Cork has awakened my hope. My Julia Ann Sullivan was born in Cork abt 1831.. According to her marriage certificate her father is CON SULLIVAN. On all the UK censuses she was born in Cork, Ireland. It doesn't mention if it was the city or the County. I have been trying to hunt down living cousins in Leeds, Yorkshire in hopes that someone has more information but as yet I have had no success, Actually it is Julia Ann Sulivan's mtDNA that I have inherited. It would be so great to find some of my Irish cousins, Julia Ann herself gave10 half Irish children to the English population which makes me believe that she must have left a number of siblings in Cork.

Roger, its good to hear from you. Julia's siblings are the following: John, Bart, Patrick, Denis, and one other unknown male. I have no idea of birth order other than Denis and the last boy were younger than Julia; Patrick isn't clear; and the first two were likely older than her. The first four children immigrated to US; Denis and the youngest went to England.
Let me know if you are able to connect any of the "dots", so to speak. My grandfather (possibly Michael) is a complete mystery to anyone I've been in touch with.

My Julia was born in the 1900's (approx 1908); she had 5 brothers that I know of (3 + herself immigrated to US; 2 to England) Because of the birthdate obviously they are not the same but I wish you much luck in your qwest.... and it may be that we will cross paths again someday!!
