Edward McCarthy according to census returns was born in Cork c1821, he came to the UK and was living in Chelsea when he married.
I think his parents were possibly JOHN McCARTHY and CATHERINE MANNING, both from Cork.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I checked on Roots Ireland and www.irishgenealogy.ie and could not find a baptismal record for Edward with the parents provided.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
