    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Do you know the names of his parents?

  • Hi Roger, know precious little about him. He had a son named George. On his death certificate as his place of birth it lists Cork. I'm guessing he ended up in Australia because of the Famine :) Melinda
Should add have been chasing information about him for about 15 years.

  • Please contact me regarding O'Brien's or Kilty's

Hi - I'm hoping to find some Kilty family members who know of ancestors from Cork - although I'm unsure whether this refers to the town or the county but the probability is the town.

  • How do I contact you, Alan?

  • Melinda:

There are a number of Charles O'Brien/Brien baptismal records around 1844 so the parents names are needed unfortunately.

You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing. Maybe you will match someone with O'Brien connections.

  • Melinda:

No you can't link your DNA here. Can I suggest that you look into Gedmatch www.gedmatch.com  Gedmatch is a volunteer run site where you can upload your raw DNA data from Ancestry and see if you match people who tested with other companies e.g. Family Tree (and also uploaded their data to Gedmatch).
