Cornelius?s marriage certificate should contain his father?s name, as well as an address to focus your search for his family.
The only marriage in 1871 for a Cornelius Hegarty in Co Cork was in Schull which is some way away from Kilworth, so I am not sure it?s the right one. You don?t say what Cornelius?s wife was a called so I cannot identify the correct marriage at this stage. You say that Brigid was baptised in Kilworth in 1872. That falls within the civil registration district of Fermoy. I can see a marriage registered in that district for a Cornelius Hegarty in 1869 and another in 1872. Either might be the right one. What was his wife?s maiden name?
