I am Looking for any information on a farmer, Patrick Conway, whose daughters are below with their approximate birthdates which could be earlier
Mary Conway 1830 Aghada, County Cork
Ellen Conway 1833 Aghada, County Cork,
Both girls married brothers in Portsea, Hampshire and named Patrick as their father.

Transcripts of records for Aghada Catholic parish back to the late 1700s are available on RootsIreland pay-website, see the section for North East Cork. A search of the index show a couple of Mary and Ellen Conway baptisms during the 1820s/1830s with father Patrick but none that I can see that are in Aghada parish, or the two adjacent (Cloyne and Middleton).
Could your Conway family have been some other denomintion, e.g. Church of Ireland ?

Hi Greg, www.nationalarchives.ie for Griffith Valuation records mid 1850's there are some entries for a Patrick Conway namely in Corkbeg Village of Gyleen, Ardra, dont think the records in Rostellan are relevant. Unfortunately these records only give details of a person in residence in a locality, amount of holding & rent paid, doesnt give info on family members. No records showing for Patrick on Tithe Applotment records 1820's.
I know some Conway people from the area & will make some enquiries - one came from Ardra which is location of one of the Patricks on the griffiths valuation. Have looked at www.historicgraves.ie but the only Patrick recorded died in 1937 which is too late. If you look at the grave site, the cemeteries to check are Corkbeg, Aghada Old Cemetery. Will revert back to you if I am able to source any more info.

Hi Greg if you look at 1901 ireland census www.nationalarchives.ie House No 2 Ardrabeg DED INCH CORK
Family Michael Conway age 60 Farmer widower Son Patrick 22. I feel this may be descendants of the Patrick you are researching as according to Irish naming patterns eldest son was named after fathers father, so possible the above Patrick on Census. Regards Frances -
Hi Greg I descend from the Conways of Ardra, Patrick (aged 22 on the 1901 census) is my great grandfather. His father Michael was the son of Patrick Conway and Margaret Cashman (also of Ardra, their grave can be found on www.historicgraves.ie). As for the Mary and Ellen, I am unaware of any sisters to Michael of those names, even though Michael did have a daughter Mary (Minnie). I know Patrick Conway sr. and Margaret Cashman married in Aghada in 1836 and had two sons, Michael (born 1838) and Timothy (born 1840) both baptised in Cloyne. There is also Hannah, Edmund (Edward) and Elizabeth (Bessie) who were siblings, Hannah and Ed moving to the US with Timothy, and Bessie stayed in Ireland. How did you have a place of birth for Mary and Ellen by the way and what do the marriage certificates say regarding Patrick Conway? (ie Occupation, deceased etc?) Regards Matt Tobin
