I am seeking information regarding my great great great grandfather, John Buckley who was born in Cork Ireland in 1810. He evidently was a "Cork Rebel" and was sent off to America where he died in 1870. He married Mary Sippi in 1836 from Tralee. She died in Cork in1883. Their son John Buckley (my great great grandfather} was a soldier who served with the 50th a Foot Regiment. He served in the NZ Wars. His decendants were born in NZ. Any information would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi Norman
There is a record of the baptism of John BUCKLY Cork 1810 on www.rootsireland.ie/
The record (which will cost) will have the parish and MAYBE his parents' names.

A cheaper option is www.riishgenealogy.ie/ which has a lot of Cork records and has one of the baptism of John Buckley 1810

Hi there John
I might be able to help with the NZ side but there is a number of John Buckleys. Did he end up in Port Chalmers, Otago?
Do you already have the NZ info?
