I am trying to locate relatives of my great grandfather, Denis Henry Sullivan, who was baptised on the 3rd February, 1861, in the Old Cobh Parish Church, Cobh (Queenstown), Cork. His sponsors were James Caverly and Mary Donovan. I think that this church may have been torn down in 1868, to make way for the construction of St Colemans Catholic Cathedral.
Denis Sullivan's father was Timothy Sullivan and his mother, Ellen Caverly. Timothy and Ellen were originally from Skibbereen, and when they married in 1857, they were living in Cobh. Timothy and Ellen had four children: Mary born in 1857, Catherine (Kate) 1859, Denis Henry 1861 and John 1863.
Denis emigrated to Australia in about 1884, and married Bridget Hegarty in Sydney, Australia, in 1888.
Denis Henry Sullivan (known as Henry), died at just 35 years old, in Australia.
