Searching for information on William Power (b. 1812) and/or wife Jane Connell (b. 1811). Both of County Cork.
Their first child, Margaretta Power was baptized on January 18, 1829 in St. Mary's of Cork City, County Cork.
A son, Cornelius C. Power, was born in April 1832. 1832 was the year the family left Ireland for Baltimore, Ontario, Canada. William was not listed in the Ontario 1851 census with the rest of the family. I assume he died sometime between 1846-1851 (based on the last child born to Jane in 1846).
It looks like the family changed their name slightly to "Powers" after immigrating to Canada. Son Cornelius always went by "Powers" in the multiple records I found.
Son Cornelius was a cooper.
Although daughter Margaretta's 1829 baptism record lists the names as "Power" and "Connell," it would not surprise me if the names were actually "Powers" and "O'Connell."
I will appreciate any help – Thank you!
Jeff

Addendum: I just found the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Cork City, County Cork record of the marriage between William Power and Jane Connell. They were married on December 22, 1827. Would most like to confirm where exactly William and Jane lived.

I have a Michael Joseph Power, born 1923 in New Ross, Revilles, Ireland and died in Tintern Farm, Salt Mills County, Wexford. He married Margaret May Laffen. They had three children: Desmond, Michelle, and Dominec. Michael's siblings were Philimoena, and Louis. Don't have much information on this line but wish you happy hunting! Merrilyn McCourt
