Good Morning,
Thank you very much for this forum. I appreciate all of the great information!
My 2nd great grandfather William Wilkinson. married Anne Burchill in 1890 at St Brendan Church, Parish Kilmoe, Schull, County Cork. On the marriage certificate it states his father is George Wilkinson, farmer.
William was a policeman (RIC) and I found him in census living in Cloyne and Lowerton with his family. What I can't find is a birth date and the name of his mother.
Thank you very much, Barbara

Welcome back!
I looked at the 1901 census record and William was listed as 38 which means his year of birth was before 1864 when civil registration began. As an aside, RIC personnell were normally not posted in their county of birth but maybe since Cork is a large county they made exceptions.
In any event, I searched on Roots Ireland and did not find his record. Roots does not have all of the Church of Ireland available records and does not have Kilmoe parish if that is where he was baptized.
There is a list of C of I parishes and where records are maintained. Some are not available, some are held locally and others are in the RCB main library in Dublin. The site which provides that info is down for some reason so I can't check.

Thank you very much Roger, I am finding a treasure trove of records with the release of latest Civil Records. Just trying to unravel all of the Wilkinson and Burchills. There were a lot of the them. Lackenakea, Crookhaven, Goleen seems to be the area in County Cork where I find most of them. The census records for William Wilkinson say he was born in County Cork. I wonder if RIC records would give more info on William Wilkinson. I did find some pension records, but not much info-one record states birth year as 1861. It is very exciting to find out any info, finding lots of BMD records, thank you, Barbara
