I am descended from James Brennan who married Ellen McAuliffe c 1820. They lived at LowerScarteen near Newmarket and there was also a Denis Brennan who lived at Upper Scarteen at the same time. His descendants still live there and I'm wondering if there is any paper record to connect the two or if anyone has done dna test to link to our branch. I have both Mum and myself tested.

Hoping to find some evidence somewhere.
Cheers, Carmel

  • Hi Carmel

The records for the Newmarket area for the timeframe you mention are hard to find as there are many gaps in the years and in general  records are available from 1820 onwards

I suggest to join our Cork DNA group on facebook it might help you find relatives
