Suzanne:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
We do not have a parish liaison in Roskeen. I looked at past Dwyer messages and most of them were Tipperary, Limerick or Clare.Hopefully others with Roskeen connections will comment on your message.
You may also want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
Have a great trip!

hello Suzanne
I live near Roskeen. It was a parish over 100 years ago but is now part of Castlemagner parish. It is located about mid way between the towns of Mallow and kanturk beside the river Blackwater.I do recall a mention of Dwyer from that area and perhaps something about a forge back about 80 years ago also. You should look up the census of Ireland for 1901 and 1911,they are free on the internet.I checked and yes, there was a family of blacksmiths and carpenters living there in 1911. I think one may be living locally at present which I can check out for you.My memory is that this man returned to Ireland some years ago.
If i am on the right track contact me and I will help further

Hey!
I live in Roskeen, and even though I'm almost 2 years late replying to this post and won't be much help, I hope you can/have met with Donie. I can't guarantee, but I'm quite sure what they said is true. Any idea what house your family was in? As in, the name of the house, or what it looked like? (Eg. Roskeen House) I won't be much help, but I'd just like to know :')
