I am looking for information on Jeremiah Coughlin/Coughlan and his wife Bridget Connolly. From Catholic Parish Records for
Cork & Ross >Schull East 1833-1871 page 22 I was able to locate theri marriage record dated 27 Feb. 1838. The marriage was officiated by James Barry and witnessed by Timothy and Daniel Connolly. I am guessing the witnesses to be Bridget's brothers. Can you help with what church this was?
From the U.S. census records I have Bridget's d.o.b. as Jan. 1813 and Jeremiah's as Dec. 1814 on one census and Dec. 1816 on another. I have looked through the parish records but have found no baptism records for either one.
Jeremiah and Bridget came to the U.S. in 1850 and settled in Norwich, Conneticut. On the 1900 U.S. census Bridget lists having had 9 children with only three surviving by 1900.
In the Parish records I found baptism records for a son John born in 1840 and a son Michael born in 1850. I am assuming that some of the unknown children were born during those years.
Once they were in the U.S. she gave birth to a child in 1850, another child in 1853, and the last child in 1860 ( which is my Great Grandfather). I am also guessing that some of the unknown children could have been born in the years between 1853 and 1860, although I have been unable to locate any information.
In addition to the name of the Church, I would love to know if they lived in Schull/Skull ( I have seen it listed as both and am not sure which is correct) or a neaby town.
Thanks for any help you may provide.
Warm Regards,

Hello again!
Likely the church is St. Mary's http://corkandross.org/parishes.jsp?parishID=56 The baptismal records do not show a specific townland ao there is no way to tell where they lived. I know they left in 1850. The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Skull civil parish shows quite a number of Coghlan records in many different townlands so no way to determine where your family lived. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/cork/skull.htm
You see both Schull and Skull used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schull
