The birth is before the start of statutory birth registration in Ireland (1864) so you are going to have to rely on Church records, where they survive.

Griffiths Valuation lists just 11 Irons households in Co Derry. One each in the parishes of Learmount, Clondermot, Magherafelt & Dungiven and 7 in Bovevagh. If you have no other leads you could search those parish records (provided you know the denomination). Copies are kept in PRONI (the Public Record Office), Belfast.

Judging by the 1901 census for Co Derry, where 51 Irons are listed, they are 99% likely to have been Presbyterian.

There?s 8 Irons households in the 1831 census for Co. Derry. There the surname is mostly spelled Trions, so watch for that variation. Again most are in Bovevagh parish. I?d start my search there.
