Hi there, I'm compling a family tree and have just found out that my great great grandparents were married in Burt in 1865. Their names were John O'Donnell and Maryanne Morrison. They had several children (Rosean, Ellen, Hannah, John, Lizzie, Sarah Jane and Bridget who was my Great Gran). At some point after they married, they moved to Greenock, Scotland where my great gran (Bridget O'Donnell) was born.
I know it's a long shot but was wondering if anyone had any information about the O'Donnell or Morrison families from this time or even a suggestion on how to find out more information? Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions xxx

Can't tell if you have the church marriage record or the civil record. Below is a transcription of the civil record which shows the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. Bride's name was shown as Margaret. Here is the link to the RC parish register which starts in 1859 and ends in 1880. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0351

Hi, I have recently started tracing my family tree and came across your message.
I live in Greenock, my grandmother was Elizabeth O'Donnell born in Greenock. I have traced her birth certificate which shows her parents as John O'Donnel and Mary Ann (Morrison) married in Burt 14/11/1865. I am hoping that there is a link to your search. I know my gran had a sister Hannah. Would be grateful for any other nformation you could give me.

Hi there,
This is definitely the same family and I'm also in Greenock! I think my great gran (Bridget) was your gran's older sister. There were quite a lot of siblings and I know Hannah was also one of them. I've been researching my family tree for a while and have got some bits and pieces going back a few generations. I'd be happy to share the info with you. Do you have an email address?
Kind regards,
Karen.
