I am trying to build my Family Tree -- I have some information on Darby Ward (my 2nd Great Grandfather) from Tonbane; my Great Grandfather, James Divers from Glenalla; and My Great Grandmother Mary Carr (my Granny Annie Ward (nee Divers) was her daughter and she married my Grampa James Divers, Widower of Mary Ann McGuinness of McGinnies; I am also trying to get some information on my Great Grandparents who were buried at Massmount in Tamney. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you. Elizabeth Dods Divers

Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
When you said you had some information on the Ward, Diver, Carr Families you failed to mention just how much you complied already! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I seen just how much, as I had already spent most of the evening researching your families collecting all the Census Records, Marriage Records, Births and Death Records only to find out that you had them so extensively researched already in your private family tree, and the information gathered was no longer required..
But to tell the truth it’s all good!
I do however have a favor to ask from you, as I am at present compiling material for the Ireland XO Chronicles People section on this Parish of Clondavaddog page and was wondering would you mind maybe adding one or two members of your family that you have researched so extensively to it, as they would be perfect for it.
You have done impressive work with your Family Tree, adding to Ireland XO Chronicles People would certainly help let people from Fanad know of its existence

Hi Seamus,
Glad to hear back from you, I'm not the swiftest Greyhound out the gate when it comes to computers and answering correctly and not screwing things up, but I'll give it my best shot. I will be happy to add any information I have on the Divers, Carr and Ward Families. Don't have too many photos but as you've seen, I do have birth/death certificates etc. Okay, I'm off to click on some links to see what happens. All the best, Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,
Good on you for rolling with this. I am just thinking to simply tell their story in life, where and when they were born, a small bit of family history, when and where they would have emigrated too and how their family has flourished since.
I intend to start putting some up this week, hopefully you will possibly get a better idea then. There is a good few example also here in the countrywide cronicles people. Some are excellent examples.

If I was to write a peice I personnally would place a photo of the person rather than records, but than thats just my preferance. I will get back to you soon on this Elizabeth,
Thanks again, this is very good of you

Hi Seamus,
Don't have too many actual pictures - lets see what I can find. CURRAN-WARD. Mary Ward is my Great Aunt - Granny Annie Ward Divers' older sister; DIVERS. Granny Annie Ward Divers with her sister Mary Ward Curran; WARD. Denis - my Cousin - son of James and Sophie Ward from Tonbane (picture was taken in Letterkenny); WARD-CARR: Mary she is my Granny Divers' Aunt (sister of Darby Ward my Paternal Great Grandfather) she married Thomas Carr and they emigrated to Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, USA;
Hope this is what you were looking for -- will keep an eye open for your messages.
All the best,

Hi Elizabeth,
I am so sorry for the confusion and it is completely my fault. I meant to say that because you have such a lovely job done of your family tree and your family history, if you were interested the option is available for you to write up the information on any of your family above and add it yourself at any time to the Chronicles People section on the Clondavaddog Page.
It will be a way to record and simply share history of your ancestors with your own family, and it will also be available for anyone that may looking for interesting local stories or researching information of local families that have emigrated from the shores of Mulroy Bay in Fanad many years ago.
Thank you Elizabeth
