I am trying to trace Richard Boyd who came to Australia in 1869. He was born in Letterkenny in 1849. His father John Boyd was a farmer and born in 1805. His mother was Mary Hanlon.

i had a look for Richard but was unable to find any record of his birth or of his parents marriage. What I did find though was a record of another sone born to John boyd and Mary Hanlon called Andrew. He was born in 1865. the address given was Carrickfin which is in West Donegal near to where Donegal Airport is now situated. It states that the parish/district is Dungloe No 2.
I'm not sure this will help you but if you try contacting the Central Library in Letterkenny they may have some records that I don't have access to.
