I am wondering if anyone has any information on the McClintock family.  Where they lived, are there still ancestors living there?  Are there pictures available of the area?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

  • You're welcome.

I suspect they were not Catholics. The local RC records only go back to 1840.

Sure let me know if you can find out more about their religion and I will make some more queries locally.

Ps, try google Street View if you want to get a look at Meenlougher!

  • Hi again Lori,

Do you have any other information whatsoever on the McLintock family in Ireland and those who emigrated to the US?

I have been told that the only McClintock family in Meenlougher lived at the farm on the link I sent to you.

    Talk soon

  • Hello again.  Sorry it has taken me so long.  A lot of family issues and the holiday, so I decided to take a break.  I am now just starting to get back into the swing of things.

I did (hopefully) find out that Charles was born pn May 6, 1815 in Donegal, Ireland. In1828, his residence was in Donaghmore, he then goes to Canada and marries Mary Jane Stene.  His arrival to the US, is in 1838 at Passamaquoddy, Maine and then in 1870 he goes to Ohio.

Charles' father was John (b: 1770-1838) and his wife was Barbara Stephenson (1780-).  This is all I have so far. If you can help, it would be great.

    Thank you so much!  Lori

  • Hello again.  I did find some more information that may help.  Charles' Father was John and his Mother was Barbara, like I stated before. There children were: Sarah 1800 birth year, Charles 1815, Andrew 1817, George 1821, William 1822 and MaryAnna 1828.

I am at least hoping that this is right as my cousin found this information out.

Again, Thank you for all your help.  Lori
