I am searching for family of George Bustard born in Clarcam on 10/15/1817. He left Ireland and came to New Brunswick Canada. I believe his parents are George and Ann Bustard. Thanks for the help!

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I checked the 1825 Tithe Applotment listing for Donegal parish and there were a number of Bustard records including a George in Clarcam.Preumably, this is the father of the George who went to Canada.

I located the transcription of George's baptismal record which likely you have already. I also located a sister named Rebecca born in 1819. I did not locate the marriage record.

    Name:George BustardDate of Birth:
    Date of Baptism:15-Oct-1817Address:ClarParish/District:DONEGALGender:MaleCountyCo. Donegal
    Denomination:Church Of Ireland
    Father:George BustardMother:Anne

    Name:Rebecca BustardDate of Birth:07-Dec-1819
    Date of Baptism:10-Dec-1819Address:ClarcamParish/District:DONEGALGender:FemaleCountyCo. Donegal
    Denomination:Church Of Ireland
    Father:George BustardMother:Anne

The 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Donegal parish had a number of Bustards in Clarcam but no George.

Here is the 1901 census for Clarcam which includes three Bustard families.

    Roger,

Thank you so much!  I have to be honest and say I don't really know what a Tithe Applotment listing is but I am so excited to have this information!  And to have a sister's name is also extremely helpful.  I am planning on coming to Ireland with 2 friends (they are sisters) who also have family from Donegal.  They are McBride's.  Our trip is not for another year so I am really hoping to have enough information to see where my family came from and get a sense about it.  This is my maternal family and my paternal family name is Rush and they are from Castlederg, Tyrone, however, James Rush was born in 1765 and left Ireland as an adult settling in New Brunswick, Canada.  I am really struggling to find out much beyond that point.  The Urney Parrish page is being worked on.

I will continue my search for the Bustard family.  Thank you.

Here is some background on the Tithe listings http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp

I just replied to your post on James Rush. Unfortunately, records will be difficult to find for that time period.

I also have Rush ancestors but they come from Co. Mayo. I also have ancestors from Donegal and was there in September 2014.

    All the best!
