Have you looked at the census records?
I looked at the 1911 Census of Ireland and found a Patrick Coll age 8 living in Carrigart with his family.

I'm not sure if this is the family that you are looking for but it's a start.
Carrigart is in the civil parish of Mevagh. Maybe if you join this parish someone from the local area can help you more than I can.

Sorry I meant to say Carrickart not carrigart.. Sometimes the spelling of places get me!!
