Samuel Farrell was born in Ireland in about 1831 and married Sarah MClennan
in Huron County, Ontario, Canada in 1860. Family tradition says he
was born In Donegal but I may be "whistling in the dark".
Can anyone help?

Jacquie, Hard to give a positive reply without the names of the parents. There are 30+ Farrels in the Griffith Valuation (GV) database for Donegal. The GV is practically the only record we have of this time frame and even this is a bit late for your Samuel. The GV was taken in the mid 1800s. The Tithe maybe of use to you @ http://goo.gl/aoxq3 . The GV for Cty Donegal can be viewed on my site by surname or parish http://goo.gl/MWHh5. or at Ask About: http://goo.gl/Tblzv Also check out Lindel's website at http://goo.gl/F2bOu. If you are not a member of the three Rootsweb Donegal mailing lists you should join them there are many individuals who can assist you on these mailing lists. http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ look up Donegal. Best I can do Bob in CDN
