My immediate immigrant family left Court, Donegal (W shores of Lough Fern, between Portleen and Gortmacol Mor) shortly after the war of 1812. The rest of the extended family remained behind and worked the farm and, at any given time, owned or leased most of the farm land in the area. I've been able to track the family on the farm up through the 1911 census. A view on Google maps shows that the farmland is mostly overgrown with trees and scrubs with a house built in the same general area as the houses on the old maps. However, my question is, whether the family still has possession of the property or has it been sold off as other family members moved away.
