    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

Do you have any more information on Andrew that you can share? The more information you post the more likely it is that someone will recognise the person you are researching.

?         Do you know the names of any other family members?

?         Do you know his religious denomination?

?         Do you know any important family dates such as birth/marriage dates etc.?

?         Did he emigrate, if so what do you know about the emigration?

All of this information will help in your search and help determine what records are relevant to your research.

Unfortunately, the reality of finding documentation pertaining to births/baptisms/marriages/deaths in Ireland prior to 1800 ? particularly in rural areas ? is that they simply may not exist. Also, it is important to note that as the Church of Ireland was the official Church at the time, most of what does survive can be found in these registers. For information on Church of Ireland registers check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/

If you would like to see what Roman Catholic records are available in Leck/Conwal parish, follow this link to the Irishtimes website:

You could try searching for Andrew in the Tithe Applotment Books. These are land records compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. Although they do not offer any genealogical information they can be used to help tie a person to a specific place. You can use them to see if Andrew was still in the area at the time. You can search these here:

Have you tried searching for Andrew at www.familysearch.org ? This is a huge database of genealogical records complied by the Church of the Latter Day Saints.

Some other websites which you may find useful are:
