William McCain Baptism

No ,sorry Miriam, I need a church baptism in 1832 for a william mcCain...in 1852 they lived in the USA. Thanks Lois

To explain the above Miriam,

Son, Wm B. McCain's relatives(cousins), had born Co.Donegal Ireland on death certificates, but don't know if son Wm B McKain born there.abt 1834,he claimed July 4th date....his Dad William was a weaver and was told they moved around alot..His Mom was Catherine Burney(Birney?),sister Catherine was born on the sea abt 1837 when sailing to Philadelphia,Pennsylvania in the US.

Then 4 more children born in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania..cannot locate any church(?) records for any of the children.,either.

I don't know the McBains, but they would have known my family, Kilgores, from Taughboyne during that time period. I can keep an eye out for the surname in my wanderings (research). It was a major linen area - flax-growers - spinning and weaving on a cottage level. You might look and see if you see the surname listed on the Flax-grower's list for 1796 (? ... sorry doing this off the top of my head) to see if they were in that parish that early. They may not have been moving around as much as you think; worth a peek. Philadelphia also makes sense as ships were plying the ocean between Derry and Philly moving flaxseed to Ulster - folks left on the outgoing ships.
