Looking for anyone who may be researching the Sterritt family of Gortaway, Aughnish Parish in Donegal near Ramelton. The siblings are Robert b. 1815 m. Fanny Stewart, George, James, Elizabeth m. Andrew Bell, and Sarah m. William Peoples. Would like to find out who their parents are. They were Presbyterian.
Fanny Stewart Sterritt emigrated to NY in 1850 with her children but her husband Robert Sterritt stayed in Ireland. Their children were: John, b. 1 Nov. 1838, Prudence b. 16 March 1840, Robert b. 1842, William David b. 1844, George b. 1845 and Eliza b. 1847.
My great great grandmother Prudence Sterritt married James Clark, b. 17 March 1836 in Donegal (High Glen?) They married in New York and moved out west to Eden Prairie, Minnesota to farm; had 12 children. The parents of James Clark were John Clark b. ca 1805 and Fanny Stewart b. 1808 (a different Fanny!) both of High Glen, Donegal. Would also like to find the parents of John Clark and Fanny Stewart.
If anyone has any information about these Sterritts, Stewarts and Clarks, I would appreciate it!

As you can see from the link below, Aughnish is a Civil Parish in Donegal:
Church of Ireland records for the parish begin in 1878whie records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Aughnish begin in 1873.
Given the research you have done so far on parish records, I wonder if you have checked out the 1901/1911 Census. This would give you a good indication of the prevalence of the name in that parish during that time.
