Coll Ballybofey

I'm having difficulty finding civil records for your familiy in the Stranolar registration district e.g birth record for Maria, death record for Michael etc. Roots Ireland does not have any baptismal records for children of Michael Coll and a mother with surname Coffey. Do you have any of these documents?

Roger, Thanks for the response. I am helping a friend living in California to trace her Irish ancestors. She advises me that her Coll ancestors all originated in or near Ballybofey. I searched and found no parish records for the parish of Stranorlar on the NLI site and there were very few Colls in Ballybofey in the 1901/1911 census returns. I found no Colls in the Stranolar graveyard records either - is there another graveyard perhaps? There is one Coll in Main St Ballybofey in Griffiths. However the american lady has a 98 year old aunt who is as bright as a new penny and is 100% certain about the family info. I wonder if they used a church in an adjacent parish for baptisms, marriages etc? Any help appreciated. Liam

Roger, Apologies but I messed up...I was looking for the wrong Michael -he and his wife died and are buried in Caliornia. I sould hae been looking for his parents - Mihael and Mary Coll born in Ballybofey in the early years of the 1800s. There has to be a graveyard wher this faily were buried but of course there may beno recordsor grave markers.  Any thoughts? Apologies for my mistake Liam

If they died in the 1850s/1860s or earlier unlikely there would be a marker.
