I am researching my Harkin side of the family. My GG grandparents were Daniel Harkin and Ellen Lynch. They were married 16 November 1846 in St. Baithin's, St. Johnston. They had 7 children that I know of, Mary baptised in St. Baithin's on 24 May 1850, Daniel born c 1853, Elizabeth born c 1858, James born c 1861, Patrick (my G Grandfather) born 24 September 1865, Bernard born 22 February 1868 and John.
Mary married John McGee and had 9 children. They lived in Monreagh.
Daniel married Jane Mackey and, after her death, he married Ellen McDevitt. He emigrated to America.
Elizabeth married Philip Hegarty and lived in Derry. They had 7 children.
James married Annie Doherty and they too lived in Derry. They had 7 daughters.
All the above married in St. Johnston.
Patrick married Elizabeth Walker and lived in Derry. They had 10 children.
Bernard married Mary Cassidy and lived in Derry. They had 7 children.
I have no information on John other than he registered the death of his mother.
There are a few large gaps between births so I think there may be more children. Any help would be appreciated.

Deirdre:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I looked on Roots Ireland and only saw records for Mary, Patrick and Bernard. Here is a link to the All Saints RC parish register. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1003 Maybe they had moved to Tyrone for a period of time.
We have a parish liaison in All Saints parish so I will e-mail her about your message. Let me know if you have not heard back in ten days or so.

My ancesors were also Lynch and Harkins from St Johnstown at around the same time, while they are not the same ones its likely I guess that they were somehow related. My great x 3 GF was John Lynch and he was married to a Margaret Harkins- info from the 1851 census

My Great Grandparents were John Magee and Mary Harkin who lived according to the 1901 Census in Monreagh, their second son Thomas was my Grandfather and by the 1911 Census they were recorded as living in Tonagh where my Grandfather Thomas and his wife Catherine Hamilton, his eldest sister Mary Anne who married Henry Toland and their parents Mary and John were all living.
We have a connection, can we get in touch to exchange information, I live in Derry and I am on facebook.
Look forward to hearing from you.
