Looking for anyone with the surname of McVane or Vane to break through a brick wall on my great great grandfather, William Henry McVane (Vane). He was born about 1833 in Ireland, sailed into Castine, Maine (USA) where according to family lore he "jumped ship", changed his name to Vane and married my great great grandmother, Sarah "Sally" Keeler in October 1853. They had 3 children, Lucy E. Vane, William Henry Vane and Annie F. Vane. He sailed out of Castine, Maine on a saltboat shortly after the birth of the youngest child who was born 1865 and never returned. He appears in the 1860 Castine census but not on the 1870 census.
