Maheranure and Mahoranure in Drumgooland?

I looked closely at the Tithe's records for Drumgooland and I think the National Archives staff made a mistake. If you hit the link for records for Maheranure, the actual film shows parish of Drumgoon, diocese of Kilmore, county Cavan. There is a townland called Magheranure in Drumgoon parish Co. Cavan. Let me know if you see it differently.

Thank you so much, Roger! That makes much more sense as I've found other records for Co. Cavan during my search for the Martins, Jami/esons and Littles.

I've also found other transcription errors in the Tithe Applotment available online at National Archives webstie. Thankful that these records are available, so not complaining! Plus it is teaching me more about my ancestral land.

You got it right. Unfortunately, if you write to the National Archives to report the problem, they won't respond and they won't fix the problem. I guess they are very understaffed.

Thanks for letting me know that reporting the error won't help. It was on my To Do List for today. Too bad that they're understaffed! Also thanks for confirming the online translator I found gave me the right phrase. It would be fun to learn Gaelic.
