My name is Graham Phillip McColough

I have been researching my roots for 50 years and the family tree is represented on my web site www.McColough.net (Not Commercial only family use)

My family left Ireland and went to live in Nova Scotia very clear records including and written letters give confirmation of name and dates.

Archibald McColough was born in 1787 in Ireland and married Jane Parkes these are facts most of the rest is supposition on my part.

My brother toured Ireland and found a grave stone with the spelling of the surname that we have used since 1800’s

See attached file

  • There’s a reference to an Archibald McCullough in Seapatrick on this site:

Probably Presbyterian. 1st Banbridge Non Subscribing Presbyterian church has records for the 1700s (with gaps) but unfortunately the other 2 Presbyterian churches in the area (Ballydown & Bannside) don’t have anything earlier than the 1860s. The NSP records are in PRONI. I don’t think they are on-line anywhere.
