Greetings:

I have been searching for more information on my Keenan/McQuoid families that I have traced to the Greyabbey - Kircubbin, Co. Down area. Here is what Iknow:

- Gr gr gr grandparents; Felix and Sarah (McQuoid) Keenan;b. 1814/1809;IRL. lived in this area. Their son, John Keenan, my gg grandfather, was baptized in Kircubbin, Co. Down in 1835.

- Felix's nephew (son of his brother John, b. abt. 1812, IRL) indicated in the 1911 census that he was from Greyabbey, Down.

- Felix and Sarah and family relocated to the Dearham, Cumberland, ENG area about 1845 (per census and birth records of children).

- Felix had siblings John, Mary and Peter.

Any information re: the Keenan or McQuoid family from this area would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks Elwyn, I try to keep up on Ros Davies website, it is the best. Unfortunately, I do not have the names of her parents and many of the children's first names could certainly come from the Keenan side. Gets confusing when child's name is John, might not be first born (death of previous infant) , unclear if named after father's father or mother's father. Again, confusing.
