My gg grandparents, Daniel Rush and Mary Elizabeth O'Hara were married in St. Malachy's Catholic Church in October, 1841.  They soon emigrated to Mississippi, USA., where they are buried.  I am looking for the names of their parents or other relatives.  Hugh and Bryan O'Hara were the witnesses to their marriage.

I will be travelling to Ireland in April, 2016, and plan to attend Sunday mass at St. Malachy's.  It would be wonderful to learn that there are distant relatives still living in Kilcoo.

  • Hi again

I see there is a Daniel Rush (Daniel's father, perhaps?) listed on the Griffith's Valuation in Kilcoo in 1863. You could see if the Valuation Records are available for that parish at the link below as they can sometimes bring you up to the 1920s in terms of who was leasing the last from that point in 1863 onwards. The link is below:

As the couple's marriage record does not record their parents' names it would be difficult to learn anything further about them, though you could try any available newspaper archives as a long shot.
