My great-great-grandmother, Catherine Quinn(1810-1884) the daughter of Thomas Quinn and Ellen (Quinn) was born in Kilkeel, Down, Ireland on December 2, 1810 and died in the USA on August 15, 1884. Catherine Quinn had two known brothers who lived in Vermont, USA--Matthew Quinn and William Quinn. She married Hugh Murphy(1800/1810-1841) about 1830 and they had four children--Owen(1832), Mary Ann(1836), Charlotte(1838) and Peter(1840). Hugh Murphy was born in Kilkeel, Down, Ireland between 1800 and 1810 and he he was murdered in Fairfield, Vermont, USA on September 23, 1841. Catherine Quinn then married Artaban Hoyt(1784-1852) in Burlington, Vermont, USA and they had one daughter, Elizabeth Hoyt(1845-1932) in Fairfield, Vermont, USA in 1845.

I am also a Quinn decendant. My Great Great Great Granfather Henry Quinn was born in 1816. Could possibly be a cousin. They are from Kilkeel as well. I am still in contact with many of my Quinn relatives. I will ask my historian cousin if she knows anything about Catherine. Best of luck on your search.
