With some ones help out there I found out that my grandfathers sister Mary Morrison did have a spouse by the name of James Carson.  They were married in the summer of 1888.  During World War Two my mother and her two sisters sent care pakages to them..  NOW I would like to find any of their children or  grandchildren who might still be in the area.

  • Hi,

Thank you very much for your message.

Have you looked in the 1901/1911 census records to see if you can find the names of some of their children? These are available online at: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Also, you could check in civil records to see if you can find any records relating to the family. You can search the indexes to these records up until 1958 here:

    https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1408347

These records are available from the GRO in DUblin:

It may also be an idea to place a message in a more local forum to try to reach out to any relatives still in the area. Here are the websites for some of the local parish churches, maybe you could enquire if you could post a mesage in their newsletter:

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,
