Looking for ancestors of John KEOWN & Susan KENNEDY - KEOWN, of Knocksticken Co. Down.

They sailed for New Zealand on board the "Beautiful Star" c. August 1868.

  • If you're talking about John Reid Snr KEOWN and Susan Mary KENNEDY I have some info. I'm descended from one of Susan's brothers. I have John's Parents as James "John" KEOWN (1829- ?) and Eliza Jane REID (?-1855). Nothing further back for KEOWNs I'm afraid !

    For Susan I have parents William KENNEDY (abt 1806-1866) and Elizabeth (Eliza or Betty) OWENS (2 Jan 1816-15 Feb 1855), William's parents James KENNEDY and Barbara GLENDENNING (1775-?) and Bessie's parents Hugh OWENS and ? THOMPSON.

    Not much I'm afraid.

  • Hello...its a long shot for Susan but  I have a family from the Same area of Clough ..Susan Kennedy nee Fairfield 1798  ..Husband Richard Kennedy. I have details of some children they had ( Mary Jane (McCoubrie).. Mathew William died Scotland  and Francis)   Susan left for Albany New York from Scotland ( A widow) in 1855 with Matthew and Francis k but may have left a daughter Susan behind?.
